ABOUT US
OUR PHILOSOPHY

Notre Dame of Cotabato (NDC) is a Catholic Secondary School owned and operated by the Marist Brothers which adheres to the tradition animated by the chrism of their founder, Saint Marcellin Champagnat; a chrism marked by the love for the youth, apostolic zeal, sense of the church, family spirit, and devotion to the blessed Virgin Mary.

NDC affirms its fidelity to relevant education, which while rooted in the teachings of Christ through the church, appeals to men and women regardless to race, religion, or social state. NDC recognizes to the uniqueness of the FIlipino values and rich cultural heritage of our country.
OUR HISTORY

The Oblate Fathers invited Br. Maurus James Doherty, Br. Herbert Daniel Dumont, Br. Joseph Damian Teston and Br. Peter Leonard Thommen to start a mission in the country. But because of the World War, the plan was delayed for a couple of years. After the war, the said four Marist Brothers arrived here on June 21, 1948 and took over the Notre Dame Academy from the Oblates, thus become the first Marist school in the Philippines. The Religious of Virgin Mary (RVM) Sisters, who had been helping the Oblates in running the school, then took care of the girls department (now Notre Dame – RVM College of Cotabato), while the Brothers has the boys department, thus giving birth to Notre Dame of Cotabato (Boys' Department). In June 1996, the school opened an afternoon short session for boys and girls. In June 2000, the school started to admit girls to the day shift session. The Notre Dame of Cotabato or (NDC) is the only Marist School at Cotabato City.

The philosophy of counseling at Notre Dame of Cotabato is based on the recognition of the dignity and worth of each student.
Counseling is concerned with the individual, and his or her spiritual, educational, vocational, personal, and social needs. It is a continuous

support staff, parents and students.
